Project awarded for storm drainage improvements to address reoccurring flooding in the Mossy Oaks area, which consists mostly of single-family residence and a school. Within the overall basin, there are two sub-basins Creek – the northern basin (I) and the southern basin (2) – that both have a single point outfall that flows into the marsh at the Battery. The city was able to obtain grants from both CDBG and RIA. Though separate projects, both will assist with the improvements in the overall basin. The RIA project is complete and it appears from recent rain events that the new drainage system is operating as designed.
