City of Myrtle Beach

Project awarded to replace severely deteriorated sections of an existing 36” transmission force main located along a busy intersection in the City of Myrtle Beach.  The force main is a key transmission line for the city’s south end regional sewer flows from the 5th Ave pump station to Grand Strand Water and Sewer Authority’s WWTP. With repeated breaks and expensive repair costs, the city needed an immediate fix to protect the environment and prevent another major force main break in the near future. The average daily flows for this force main are approximately 1 to 2 million gallons a day. The line directly serves 8,323 residential and 2,228 commercial customers along the south end of Myrtle Beach as well as hundreds of tourists.
