With a service area of more than 750 square miles, the Kershaw County & Lee County Regional Water Authority is relied upon by thousands of homes in north-central South Carolina. As part of a series of recent system imporvements, the authority received a RIA grant to replace an aging 65,000-gallon elevated storage tank with a 200,000-gallon tank. In providing additional storage capacity, system pressures can now be maintained during peak demands. The new tank also puts the authority in a position to serve as a back-up water supply for the City of Camden in the event of an emergency.
