The Town of Santee received funding to improve a 33 year-old pump station, located near Chapel Branch which feeds into Lake Marion, a world-class fishing lake and tourist destination. In addition, it serves as the influent pump station for the wastewater treatment plant so upgrades were needed to ensure it could handle the increased flows resulting from continued growth in the Town and surrounding area. The pump station serves more than 400 residential customers. This project is expected to eliminate the overflow risk at that location and help maintain the quality of life for local residents.
